Making Room for the Living and the Dead

with Sarah Ratekin

November 1 is All Saints’ Day, and the beginning of Día de los Muertos observances. Rev. Dr. Sarah Ratekin reflects on what she has learned from her familia in Mexico, whose delight in her daughter’s November 2 birthday opened a new way to think about remembrance and belonging.

Why is it so hard for us to talk about death? And what do we lose when important changes in our lives go unmarked? Together, we’ll explore how our UU values can help us make room for grief, memory, celebration, and the rites of passage we need.

That evening, the Pagan and Earth-Centered Religions group will host a Silent Supper pitch-in. All are welcome.
