At the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County, we believe faith isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking meaningful questions, exploring together, and growing into the people we are called to be.

Our Religious Exploration program invites children and youth to discover the values of Unitarian Universalism through play, conversation, creativity, stories, and hands-on activities. Each month, our class explores a common theme that connects with our Sunday worship, giving families opportunities to continue the conversation at home and helping our entire congregation grow together.

Rather than teaching children what to believe, we encourage them to think deeply, ask questions, practice kindness, and discover their own sense of wonder. Along the way, they learn about many religious traditions, the natural world, ethical living, and what it means to build communities rooted in love, justice, and respect for every person.

Our classes are led by a dedicated team of trained volunteers and paid part-time staff who create a safe, welcoming environment where every child is valued for exactly who they are.

We also believe that learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom. Children are welcome in nearly all activities and worship with the congregation, serve alongside adults, participate in community activities, and experience firsthand what it means to belong to a caring, inclusive faith community.
