Dear friends and members of UUCCHC,
We’re honored to step into the new fiscal year (July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) as your Board of Directors for the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County. As we begin this next chapter of shared leadership, we’re filled with gratitude for the trust you’ve placed in us—and inspired by the spirit of this thoughtful, resilient, and deeply caring community.
Together, we bring 93 years of collective experience as members of this congregation. Each of us has a deep love for UUCCHC and a shared commitment to our UU values. We are excited to serve with integrity, hope, and a spirit of collaboration as we help guide our church through a meaningful year of connection, growth, and renewal.
This weekend, we’ll gather for a board retreat to dive into the work ahead — reviewing current needs, learning about our systems and procedures, setting priorities, and imagining what’s possible in the months to come. We’re especially energized by the fact that nine new members have joined UUCCHC in the past year. That’s something to celebrate and build on!
You’ll be hearing more from us throughout the year, but we also want to hear from you: your questions, your insights, and your ideas. It truly takes all of us to nurture and sustain this vibrant community. Your presence matters.
We also want to extend heartfelt thanks to our outgoing board members: Annie Johnson, Jeff Haverly, Eileen Alexander, and Julian Jones. Their leadership through the challenges of the COVID era and its aftermath helped keep our church grounded and connected. We’re grateful that they continue to serve in other volunteer roles — contributions that remain vital to our shared future.
Finally, a warm welcome to this year’s board: Dian Moore continues her term and will serve as our vice president. I’ll be serving as president, alongside new members Melaney Sargent (treasurer), Theresa Boredenkecher (secretary), and Sue Pittman (at-large). We’re grateful for Dian’s experience on the previous board and leadership as we begin our work together.
Gratefully,
Rosie Blankenship
