When Indiana locked down due to COVID-19, UUCC had a question to answer: How will we meet our congregational needs?
In response, UUCC found a way. We held a congregational first on March 15, 2020, taking our services virtual to continue offering gatherings with our beloved community. Over the past 14 months, we have learned – and laughed – together through virtual fellowship. Our services bring us together with our congregation and special guests to consider new information, challenge our beliefs, celebrate our successes, and share our concerns. If you need a reminder of the wonderful things we have to be proud of from 2020, be sure to check out our UUCC accomplishments list.
However, with the increase of vaccinated individuals – even in Hendricks County – and the updated CDC guidelines for masking, we now have a new question to address: http://philldiscgolf.com/new.php When will we return to normal fellowship?
We believe that as a congregation we have a responsibility to frame this conversation about the future of fellowship at UUCC with our underlying UU values.
As we consider possibilities, we must first ask:
- How can we display our UU values in the actions we take next for fellowship?
- What conditions must be met for individuals to feel safe meeting in-person?
- How can we take the best from what we have learned through virtual fellowship and combine it with the in-person connection we want to nurture?
Patāmundai These are big questions and we need your thoughts on the answers.
Members of UUCC are invited to join one (or more) of three options to give input:
1. Attend a virtual session
Monday, May 31 from 7-8 p.m. https://zoom.us/j/95276461635
2. Attending an in-person session
Tuesday, June 8 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Ellis Park, Danville
3. Send individual feedback
Via email to Natalie Brake
Via text/phone call 317-850-0291
All feedback will be considered by the board at our meeting on June 13.
We have an opportunity to approach this conversation with intentional application of our UU values. Bring your voice into the discussion!
