http://preferredmode.com/2013/10/22/christoph/ In this talk, public historian Justin Clark will share the story of his grandmother and the lessons he’s learned from her along the way. Acting as a surrogate mother to Justin since the age of 14, his grandmother left an indelible mark on him and taught him the importance of love — for one’s self, for others, and the world. Incorporating insights from the psychoanalyst Erich Fromm and his pathbreaking work The Art of Loving, Justin will offer a meditation on the centrality of love in our flourishing as human beings, the obstacles preventing love in our modern life, and how we can learn to love one another better.

Justin Clark is a public historian and serves as the Digital Initiatives Director for the Indiana Historical Bureau, a division of the Indiana State Library.
