Let’s Start a UUCCHC Chalice Circle Discussion

http://fhaloanmichigan.org/fha-loan-in-algonac-mi/ Let’s Talk and Learn About Racism, White Privilege, and Improving Ourselves. In light of recent events, current times are causing many in our Congregation to look around and ask themselves, “What Next”?  I grew up in a home, a community, a school with little if any exposure to diversity, not knowing or being taught about many of the episodes I hear of today.  As Ibram Kendi states in the book,  buy modafinil uk online How to be an Antiracist, “Racist ideas make people of color think less of themselves, which makes them more vulnerable to racist ideas.  Racist ideas make white people think more of themselves, which further attracts them to racist ideas.”  Where do I fit in this puzzle, how can I do better?
We are appealing to our UU Community to help start a discussion on these topics in the form of a Chalice Circle Discussion Group.  We have many resources that we can share, read, watch, listen, and review in advance, then participate in a 60-90-minute discussion which we can learn and share thoughts on these topics.
But we need help getting this started.  We hope we can get a group of 6 or more folks together to make it an interesting sharing of ideas and learning how we can better understand and interact with all in our community.  We are thinking about bi-weekly, Wednesday evenings, Zoom Virtual meetings, starting as soon as July 1.  But we need to hear from you.  If you are interested in participating, please let me know soon.  Jeff Haverly
