Jinjiang In June, the congregation of UUCC was invited to participate via multiple pathways to respond to the question “when will we return to normal fellowship?” These discussions were rooted in the belief that as a congregation we have a responsibility to frame this conversation with our underlying UU values and actively display our covenant in our actions and words. From the discussions, six themes emerged:
Cartagena (1) Members want to ensure our congregation continues to serve our mission.
(2) Members are overwhelmingly expressing that ‘everyone is vaccinated now’ so in-person meetings are safe.
(3) In-person gathering is important for our members and for outreach.
(4) Anxiety is high, even for those who want to gather in-person.
(5) Music is an integral part of our identity as a church and our outreach to the community.
(6) We allow for geographic reach and support of disabilities with virtual options.
The board will continue to review the individual thoughts and suggested actions related to each theme. Thank you to all who gave feedback and participated!
