4th Sundays

Since the beginning of human communities, sharing a meal has been a sacred act. To break bread together is to say, “We belong, in this place, with these people.” In a busy and weary world, this simple ritual matters more than ever. It slows us down, gathers us in, and reminds us that connection is a need, not a luxury. We know lives are busy, so as we weave this into the fabric of UUCCHC life, we’re starting simple. Community Sunday Suppers will take place on the fourth Sunday of each month as an intentionally simple, welcoming pitch-in, shaped by generosity rather than obligation. In other words, please join us, even if you’re not in a position to contribute a dish! Doors open at 5 p.m. so folks can arrive, reheat dishes, and get settled in. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. Homemade, store-bought, or last-minute offerings are all welcome.

Presence matters more than perfection, and this is a time to build community, not compete for a cook-off title (although we definitely need to have one of those! UUCCHC has some phenomenal cooks!!). We’ll have a sign-up sheet in the Fellowship Hall to help coordinate what folks are bringing, mostly so we get a little of everything and don’t accidentally wind up with eight Jello salads. 😉 But do show up, whether you signed up or not.

As this new tradition takes root, our vision is to open this table to the wider community. For now, we begin as all meaningful things do, by gathering, breaking bread (including gluten-free options!), and spending time together with our UU family, but please feel free to invite or bring friends!
